You may have already browsed through my website but just in case you haven't yet, here is a little back story on my, Coach Kally V.
I am married to a Baseball Coach and we have 3 very active kids that play sports too. have 17 years of Ultrasound Tech experience.
I have been coaching 1 on 1 for almost 24 years. In those years I have had athletes that went on to play college softball but more importantly have done so good in their adult lives. Some of my former athletes are now coaches themselves and also do 1 on 1 lessons.
I have coached at 3 high schools, coached and still am coaching travel ball. I started coaching Little League at the age of 18 and I have coached at ALL levels up to the colligate level.
I grew up being coached by my parents, having a pitching coach and also playing 2 years up with my sisters age group in ASA softball since I started playing travel ball. I have played softball since the age of 4 or 5, started playing travel ball at the age of 10, I started pitching at the age of 9 years old and I also played college softball for 2 years. During that time I was the starting pitcher, played second base and Rt field. My sophomore year I was voted as a top returning NJCAA returning player. After getting a scholarship and playing ball for 2 years of Junior college ball at Seward County Community College in Liberal KS, I was going to continue playing ball at Easter New Mexico State University. I wanted to eventually play on a pro team and even tryout to play and represent my country at the Olympic Games.
Unfortunatley after my sophomore year things tiik a change in my "plan" of softball. I ended up with a blood clot in my brain that led to the diagnoses of a genetic bleeding/clotting disorder, protein S and protein C deficiency. After that diagnoses it was then decided that in order to live with blood that wants to clot too much I would be on blood thinners the rest of my life. It was there when the NCAA would not allow me to play anymore due to me now being a liability. I had to hang my playing cleats up and bring out my coaching turfs.
I look forward to the opportunity to help your daughter learn even more about what it is to be a pitcher, the work that it takes to and to understand what it takes to own that position!
Best Regards, Coach Kally V.
